Kyara was our first artist-in-residence, spending 10 days in Oma Taidetalo.
She is a sculptor from Belgium. She came to Finland in September 2020, as an exchange student in The Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki.
She created a semi-figurative installation in the greenhouse, with found objects from the garage. She visited Simpeleen Nuorisoseurantalo, tried on old costumes and took self portraits of various made-up characters. She also found a few of our typewriters, leaving us some short stories for the June exhibition.
